Dear Pasco Stake Youth,
We are very excited about our upcoming Trek in 2014. The purpose of this Trek is to provide you with a unique opportunity for spiritual, emotional, and physical growth. The Trek theme “Press Forward with a Steadfastness in Christ” will serve as a reminder to strengthen your testimony and faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.
From 1856 to 1860 almost 3,000 faithful saints traveled 1300 miles from Iowa to the Salt Lake Valley in 10 of these Hand-cart caravans. Along the way 250 lost their lives and most suffered unimaginable hardships, yet they did not give up! They endured their hardships and trekked on and made it to Zion. They were among those most faithful who built the legacy that we benefit from today as members of this great Church. We hope that your Trek experience will help you connect with those faithful Saints who went before and sustain you and build your faith as you experience your hardships and difficulties today.
We encourage you to prepare physically, mentally, and spiritually over the course of the next few months. We promise you that as you diligently prepare, the Lord will bless you with a choice experience that will build your faith and your love for Him.
We testify to you that God lives and that He knows you and loves you. We testify that Jesus Christ has atoned for you and has restored His church to the earth in these latter days. We testify that as you follow Christ, keep His commandments, and always remember Him you will find your greatest happiness.
Know that we love you and pray for you and we are looking forward to being with you on the Trek.
